After having suffered  a heart attack late Saturday night, Aunty Miro passed away  peacefully this afternoon surrounded by her whanau and friends.

She is currently at White Haven where she will spend the night with  her whanau and friends before being brought to Tamatekapua tomorrow Tuesday 2nd April at 10a.m.

Our aroha goes out to the Reedy whanau also.

Their brother Raymond, has passed away in Brisbane and will be brought back to Rotorua sometime this week.

This qualification is designed to support young people in achieving NCEA Level 2 as well as providing them with a taste for specific trade training.  Students will gain an introduction to both the automotive and construction industries while being supported towards the achievement of literacy, numeracy and study skills.

FEES AND COURSE REALATED COSTS

• NO FEES if students meet the Youth Guarantee criteria (details attached)
• Waiariki will provide students with all Personal Protective Equipment and tools required to complete their study

This morning a framed glass photograph (29cm x 35cm) of a beautiful child was given in at Tipu Ora reception.

The person did not leave a name at reception but asked if we could return it to the whanau.

Ngati Whakaue will be gathering at Tumahaurangi Marae at 9a.m this morning before heading out to Punawhakareia to attend Paora Te Rangi’s tangihanga.

For those who can’t make it then, the Te Arawa Kapa Trust and the Te Arawa force from Te Matatini will be gathering at Punawhakareia at 2pm today Sunday.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Paora Te Rangi, younger brother to Wirihana Te Rangi who left us last night.

The whanau were fortunate to have him at the homestead last night. He has been taken to Whitehaven this morning and will be lying at Punawhakareia Marae.

The whanau are still waiting to confirm the nehu which will be either Monday or Tuesday as they are waiting for his eldest Kamira to come back from Australia.

Kia Ora to our whanaunga Merehira for passing this on to Aunty Norma.

Kei te rere wairua karere haere.

Te Matatini is over and I guess it’s now time to get back to reality.

TE ARAWA came together and showed the nation what we are made of. I have heard nothing but wonderful remarks nationwide about the impressiveness of the powhiri as well as the performances and how Te Arawa did a great joblooking after the thousands of visitors. Our organisers and the many volunteers should be very proud of themselves. as also TE ARAWA.

Hopefully everyone is now rested and ready to get on with the next chapter in our busy lives.

Don’t forget Saturday night we have the Lakeside Concert happening.

Always a great concert to attend with the organisers putting on another spectacular evening of entertainment.

A good night to just chill out and relax with whanau and friends. See you there.
