Norma’s Ngāti Whakaue Pānui

Monday 17th June 5pm – 6pm. Waiata Moteatea Classes. Whakaturia Conference Room Waiata classes will resume tonight. These classes are about familiarising ourselves with our NW waiata moteatea. We sing for one hour straight every Monday except for tangihanga, School holidays and public holidays. If anyone has any spare discs could I possibly have or borrow a copy please. Classes are open to everyone Tuesday 18th June 6pm – 8pm. Paepae Wananga – Tamatekapua Meeting House. Run by Kingi Biddle and his team every Tuesday, these classes follow on from the very successful weekend Paepae noho held every 4-6 weeks which currently focuses on teaching whakapapa, Hitori, Pakiwaitara, Karakia whakamarama etc of a specific waiata moteatea o Ngati Whakaue. Lenny Boy Kameta passed away yesterday but the whanau have opted to keep him at home. Lenny Boy is the son of Len Kameta who passed away in February. He is due to arrive back at 5 May Rd today at 12oclock where he will lay until his funeral service on Thursday.

This morning a framed glass photograph (29cm x 35cm) of a beautiful child was given in at Tipu Ora reception. The person did not leave a name at reception but asked if we could return it to the whanau. The name on the blue tag at the bottom says WATI.  The frame is being kept safe and if someone should recognise the child they can email Tipu Ora via Dianne Hohaia.
